Pastoral Care

At Eastern Health, we believe that providing good quality care means taking into consideration everything about our patients, residents and clients - not just their disease or illness. Pastoral care is offered as a part of "whole person care" and pastoral care staff are a part of the health-care team. Through pastoral care, our clients, patients and residents are given assistance to use their spiritual, faith and religious beliefs to enhance their health and wellbeing.
Our Vision Statement
We believe that all patients, families and staff of Eastern Health have a right to pastoral supports and spiritual care. We are committed to having competent staff deliver pastoral services. Our pastoral care staff members are respectful of the clients’, patients’ and residents’ religious traditions and their wishes.

We continue to work in collaboration with other health-care professionals and other pastoral care workers throughout the region and the province to improve the quality of pastoral care through evaluation, research and professional development.
